Job Description
Position is responsible for utilizing, evaluating and developing competitive intelligence sources, as well as collecting and correlating actionable analyses in the form of written reports for Senior Management in the BU. Position will support the competitive intelligence efforts for the US Oncology business unit, and assume the lead role in providing competitive intelligence to several US brand teams. This intelligence will impact resource and marketing strategy, analysis and recommendations:
Develop US-specific key intelligence topics and related questions.
Act as a consultant to US stakeholders in proactively identifying & addressing CI needs.
Analyze compounds representing threats to the company s portfolio;
Which stage of development, product profile, and the potential strategic options that could emerge from those profiles.
Identify and analyze impact of competitive product profiles, stage of development, rollout dates, and developmental issues, pipeline analysis; determining likely order of entry, likely resourcing by competition.
Evaluate competitor technical capabilities, patent issues, and placement of clinical studies, providing observations regarding the strength of the competition.
Provide expertise when writing reports to the brand teams and others in regard to the possible impact of new product entries in the face of new and existing product competition.
Become the internal expert on competitor companies by researching and analyzing all available data. Manage external vendor in support of these activities.
Manages competitor news flow from internet/database searches in conjunction with NKC or Med Services.
Coordinate efforts with Global Oncology CI dept.
Minimum requirementsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
In depth and broad knowledge of healthcare industry and companies within.
High degree of knowledge and experience in the business and operations of pharmaceuticals, particularly in the areas of marketing, sales force and clinical development.
Experience in the healthcare industry and extensive experience in the aspects of product marketing (at least 5 years) or support is required.
Ability to effectively interact with senior leadership.
Undergraduate degree in science and an MBA are preferred.
Competitive Intelligence experience is highly desirable.
Strong written and oral presentation skills.
Strong project management skills.
Must be highly personable in order to develop external sources of competitive information and to establish strong internal working relationships.
Travel is approximately 20 %, but varies by season.
